Toad vs. Jasmine PEZ Dispensers: A Collector's Comparison

Quick answer

Choose the Toad PEZ dispenser if you collect Nintendo or Super Mario characters; choose the Jasmine PEZ dispenser if you focus on Disney Princess or Disney collections. Both are packaged in a poly bag and include two candy refills, so the real difference is which character world you want on your shelf.

Franchise fit: Nintendo nostalgia vs. Disney Princess focus

The Toad dispenser belongs to the Nintendo PEZ Collection, while Jasmine is part of the Disney Princess PEZ Collection. That franchise label is the clearest sorting rule for character PEZ dispensers: pick the world you already collect. If your shelf mixes Mario, Luigi, and other Nintendo characters, Toad keeps that theme coherent. If your collection centers on Disney Princesses, Jasmine slots in without breaking the visual story.

This is also where a Disney PEZ dispenser comparison gets practical: Jasmine is one entry in a larger Disney Princess set, so she can be a starting point or a gap-filler. Toad serves the same role for Super Mario fans. Neither is a standalone oddity; each is designed to sit alongside other characters from its franchise.

Packaging and refills: same format, different display appeal

Both dispensers come in a poly bag with two PEZ candy refills included. That means the unboxing experience and the snack value are effectively the same. The difference is display appeal: a poly bag is simple and protective, but it is not a display case. If you plan to keep the dispenser sealed, the bag preserves the character card and refills together. If you plan to use it, the bag is easy to open and the refills are ready to load.

Because both are packaged the same way, you cannot use packaging to decide between them. Use character preference instead. The shared format does make them easy to buy as small gifts or party favors without worrying that one is more generous than the other.

The trade-off: depth vs. cross-franchise variety

The main trade-off is collection depth versus variety. Jasmine gives you a path into the Disney Princess PEZ Collection, which rewards collectors who want to build a themed set over time. Toad gives you a recognizable Nintendo character that stands out on a shelf dominated by Disney or generic characters. If you want a focused collection, pick the franchise you are most likely to keep expanding. If you want visual variety, mixing Toad into a Disney-heavy shelf creates a deliberate contrast rather than a mistake.

A secondary trade-off is gift uncertainty. Jasmine is a safer guess for Disney Princess fans; Toad is a safer guess for Super Mario players. When you are buying for someone whose collection you have not seen, the franchise is the strongest clue you have.

Decision rules for choosing between Toad and Jasmine

• If you already collect Nintendo or Super Mario: Pick the Toad PEZ dispenser so your character lineup stays within one franchise. The trade-off is that it will not extend a Disney Princess set. Check whether your shelf already has Mario-series characters before buying.
• If you are building a Disney Princess set: Pick the Jasmine PEZ dispenser to add a Disney Princess character with included refills. The trade-off is that it will not serve Nintendo-focused collectors. List the Disney Princess characters you already own so you do not duplicate Jasmine.
• If you are buying as a gift without seeing the collection: Match the franchise to the recipient's fandom: Jasmine for Disney Princess fans, Toad for Super Mario players. Both include two refills, so the gift is immediately usable. Ask which franchise they collect rather than guessing from the character alone.
